Facebook declared today they are planning ahead with the buy of the instant messaging service WhatsApp for an astounding 16 billion us dollars . This investment is going to be composed of 4 billion us dollars in cash and 12 billion us dollars value of shares in Facebook . 
In a document filed with the SEC today , Facebook has guaranteed that it will likely be purchasing the messaging client . Just like their previously purchase of Instagram , Facebook will permit WhatsApp to keep function on their own after the purchase and deal also include an additional 3 billion us dollars value of Facebook stock for WhatsApp workers . Mark Zuckerberg , the Facebook founder , had this to state regarding the freshly released info about the purchasing . 




WhatsApp is on a path to connect 1 billion people. The services that reach that milestone are all incredibly valuable. WhatsApp will complement our existing chat and messaging services to provide new tools for our community.

Moreover , WhatsApp co-founder Jan Koum will enroll in Facebook’s board of company directors as a part of the deal .
