How To Enable Built-in Messenger in Facebook APK Without Installing Messenger app
The default Facebook app (Android version) is said to have a built-in messenger system which is hidden. This messenger works just fine without you having to installing the independent Messenger app on your device.
XDA developers member, lorantm, has designed a program that enables the hidden messenger feature and some other features in the Facebook app.
After using this program on your device, these are some of the features you'll be able to use:

After using this program on your device, these are some of the features you'll be able to use:
- Send messages directly from the main Facebook app without the need to install Messenger.
- Send images and videos from your gallery or using Messenger's QuickCam feature.
- Edit images and cut videos before sending them.
- Share images from conversations to Facebook.
- Record and send audio clips.
- Send events and locations.
- Send emojis, stickers and big likes.
- See cool snow fall and floating hearts when sending the appropriate emojis.
- Play Messenger's basketball game (without score submission though).
How to enable these features
Downloads
- FB Patcher - Download
On Windows
- Install the latest Java runtime if you haven't done it yet.
- Download the patcher and extract the files to 'C:\fbpatcher' - Download
- Download the latest Facebook apk from apkmirror or Play Store.
- Move the apk to the folder where you have extracted fbpatcher, and rename it to 'fb.apk'.
- Double-click 'fbpatcher.bat' to start the patching.
- If it's done, you get a file 'fb-patched.apk'.
- Copy it to your device, install and enjoy!
On Linux
- Install the latest Java runtime if you haven't done it yet.
- Download the patcher and extract the files to '~/fbpatcher' (~ is your home directory)
- Download the latest Facebook apk from apkmirror.
- Move the apk to the folder where you have extracted fbpatcher, and rename it to 'fb.apk'.
- Open Terminal and type 'cd ~/fbpatcher', press Enter, then type 'java -jar fbpatcher.jar fb.apk fb-patched.apk' and press Enter again.
- If it's done, you get a file 'fb-patched.apk'.
- Copy it to your device, install and enjoy!
Note: You will have to uninstall the official app from your device for this patched version install properly.
