Turn Your Xperia Z5 and Z5 Dual To Android N

Weeks ago, Android N developer preview was released officially to Xperia Z3 devices. The Xperia Z5 did not receive this upgrade, and yet has not.

Just so Xperia Z5 users don't feel left out, Xda-developers member, nreuge, released a modified Android N System UI for Z5 and Z5 dual.

It has also been reported that this modified System UI works flawlessly on Xperia Z5c devices as well. So you are free to try it out.

How To Change Xperia Z5 System UI To Android N

Requirements:
Modified System UI:

Replacing default System UI with modified version

Xperia Z5:
  • First, do a backup via recovery
  • Download the modified systemUI_N_vx_FWyyy.apk from above, according to your device firmware (latest .185) 
  • Copy the apk to your device in system\priv-app 
  • Rename it SystemUI.apk and apply the permissions rw-r--r--
  • Move it to system\priv-app\SystemUI and delete the oat folder if there is any
  • Reboot and enjoy.


Xperia Z5 Dual:

  • Download the modified systemUI_N_vx_Z5dual_FWyyy.apk from above, according to your firmware (latest .185)
  • Copy the apk to your device in system\priv-app
  • Rename it SystemUI.apk and apply the permissions rw-r--r--
  • Move it to system\priv-app\SystemUI (do not delete the oat folder since this SystemUI is odexed)
  • Reboot and enjoy.
