HTC Calendar Widget + Moto Launcher

Few years back I had a HTC M7 and loved the calendar widget today I found the apk of it and installed in on my Moto G3 along with the Sense 8 beta.

However I've ran into a issue;

As you can see when using the Sense 8 launcher everything is fine

but with the default launcher this happens

I can't find any options anywhere that would make this happen.

Any ideas?
