Cannot lock on a GPS signal with Data ON

Hi everyone,

So, here's my problem:
I can only get a GPS signal when I am at home on WiFi with data off OR when I have my preferred network type on 2G. If I change my network type to 3G I lose GPS signal and can't get a new one. This makes apps like Google Maps Navigation useless since my location changes every few seconds instead of moving in a fluid way.

I am running CM 12 and I have tried to go back to stock to get a gps lock and then restore. I have also tried the fastboor modem reset commands however I am only able to use my GPS with 2G and not 3G.
