SSHdroid won't start because Wifi is off even though I'm on Ethernet

I'm not sure why SSHDroid is so obsessed with wifi but is there anyway to get it running on Ethernet? I feel like my other options are tricking SSHDroid into thinking the wifi is on or using another SSH server. I'm rooted if that helps.
