Update Lenovo S660 with Android KitKat S660_S058 Official Release - Couple a weeks later i already posting how to update your Lenovo S660 with KitKat using OTA method, OTA method is a lot easier to be done if you previous firmware is S660_S039. But if you previous firmware not S039 you must flashing S039 first then check on System Setting ↦ System Update. Today i will post a guide on how to update your Lenovo S660 with Android KitKat S058 with PC method installation, this method can be done from any previous firmware. but always remember to make full backup first because this guide will always erase your data and have possibility to brick your device.

PC Method, Update Lenovo S660 with Android KitKat S660_S058 Official Release

1. Download all required files, place it on one folder for easy organize it. first you must make sure that USB VCOM driver already completely installed because you cannot continued to next step without it. 
2. Extract S660 ROW_S058_140919, you will found 2 folders target_bin and Flast_Tool v5.1416, just ignore else.
3. Go to flash tool folder and run Flash_Tool.exe, on the flash tool select Options ↦ Option ↦ Download make sure DA DL All with Checksum is checked, click close [x] to go back to flash tool.
   


4. Back to flash tool, click on Scatter-Loading button and point it to target_bin/MT6582_Android_scatter.txt this will automatically load all necessary files to flash tool. Leave boot mode to Download Only and after finish all press Download button or CTRL+ D
   


5. Wait for 3-5 seconds, now turn off your device and remove the battery.
6. Now connect your device using USB cable, Flash tool will immediately recognize your device and begin to start installation process, this installation process will take 5-6 minutes to finish wait until you can see GREEN CIRCLE on the middle of flash tool
   


7. Done, now you can disconnect your device. Try to normal boot and confirm that your device already updated with Android KitKat. Go to System Settings ↦ About Phone make sure Build Number is same with downloaded ROM.

Instructions:

1. Download Recovery and 4.3 ROM/Firmware
2. Install Intel USB Driver and Extract ADB Driver
3. Copy Recovery img to ADB Folder
4. Extract downloaded 4.3 Firmware and Copy to Adb Folder
5. Turn On USB Debugging (How ? Here)
6. Connect Zenfone with USB Cable to Computer/Laptop
7. Open ADB Folder and Open Command Prompt (Shift + right Click > Open Command Here)
8. Type: adb reboot bootloader
   
9.  When succed reboot and enter fastboot Type: fastboot flash recovery <filename.img>
   
10. Then Go to ADB: choose Recovery when android robot appear press volume down+volume up and Choose update from ADB
11. Type in CMD: adb sideload <firmwarename.zip> and wait until complete
    
    
12. Wipe Cache and Data (Tutorial Here)
13. Reboot

Flashing Lenovo S860 with CN version Firmware

1. Download all required files to your computer, place it on one folder for easy organized it. Make sure USB VCOM driver completely install on your computer if not you will not unable to go to next step.
2. Extract S860_S122_140405, then extracts target_bin and S860_flashtool_20131031. You will only need this 2 folders and ignore the rest.
3. Go to S860_flashtool_20131031 extracted folder and run Flash_Tool.exe if you are using windows 7 please run it with administrator privilege. Checked DA DL All with Checksum option, this is must be checked. No click Scatter-Loading button and point it to target_bin/MT6582_Android_scatter.txt this will automatic load all necessary files to flash tool.
   


4. After that, just press Download button or hit F9. Flash tool will begin initialize the ROM file this will take time 1-2 minutes just wait for flash tool become stand by mode.
5. Now turn off your device, since Lenovo S860 use non-removable battery so you must wait until Lenovo S860 is completely turn off, because failing will make you open the case just for disconnect AC wire.
6. If you feel that your device already completely turn off, then connect your device to your computer using USB cable, Flash Tool will immediately recognize your device and begin the flashing process, Flashing process mark with RED, PURPLE, and YELLOW bar on the buttom the SP Flash Tool.
   


7. When you see GREEN CIRCLE in the middle of SP Flash Tool, then you can disconnect your device. It mean flashing process already finish with successful.
   


8. Done. Now you already successful install Official CN Firmware for Lenovo S860. check on your System Setting ↦ About Phone, look on the Build Number make sure it has the same version with downloaded ROM.

Lenovo S660 Downgrade to S032 CN Firmware :

1. Download all required files and place on one folder, for easy organized it. First you must make sure that USB VCOM driver is completely installed on you computer before continued to the next step, it will not work without USB VCOM driver installed successful.
2. Extract S660_S032_CN and go to DL Tool & SOP sub folder, it will contains Lenovo USB Driver and Flash Tool v3.133, go to Flash Tool folder and run Flash Tool.exe if you are running windows 7 please run using administrator privilege.
3. On the Flash Tool please make sure DA DL All with Checksum option is being checked, you will got error when this is not checked. Click on Scatter-Loading button and point it to Files_to_FlashTool/MT6582_Android_scatter.txt this action will automatic load entire files needed to Flash Tool.
   


4. Finish configure on Flash Tool, now press Download button or hit F9 this will make Flash Tool become into stand by mode and ready to connect with your device.
5. Now turn off your device and remove the battery, connect your device with USB cable. When USB VCOM driver is completely install Flash Tool will immediately recognize your device and will start to begin flashing process. 
6. Flashing process can be see by progress bar that show on the bottom of SP Flash Tool. Progress bar will be begin with RED, PURPLE, YELLOW and will be ended with GREEN CIRCLE on the middle of  SP Flash Tool. When you see this sign then flashing process already finish and you can disconnect your device.
   


7. Done, now you already successful install or downgrade your device to version S032 CN firmware with modified ROM. After successful boot check your current version on System Setting ↦ About Device see at Build Number make sure it same with downloaded ROM.
