How to Rooting Lenovo S860 Running Android KitKat ROW version - This guide is for Lenovo S860 running Android KitKat ROW version, it will explain how to rooting and install custom recovery (TWRP v2.7.0.1) on your device. Lenovo S860 is use non-removable battery so when something wrong happen, you must be able to open the case and remove the battery from it place, it difficult so please consider it before following this guide. Before we start there is no harm if you do backup first in case something wrong happen, the most effective backup is using MTK Droid Tools, this tool will do full backup of your device.

• TWRP v2.7.0.1_ROW ↦ contain custom recovery file and scatter file for Lenovo S860, this file can also flash with MobileUncle Tools
• USB VCOM Driver ↦ Install this driver first on your computer, Turn off your device and remove the battery, using USB cable connect your device while look at My Computer ↦ Manage ↦ Device Manager there will be MTK65xx Preloader Devices show up for 5 second than disappeared, before disappeared right click on it and select Update Driver Software point it to USB VCOM Driver extracted folder. When it finish disconnect and connect again there will be Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port on your device manager.
  


• UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94 ↦ file root, must be installed with custom recovery method.
• SP Flash Tool v3.1328 ↦ Flash tool for installing custom recovery to your device, recommend to use this version but if you wanna experiment with higher version than it ok.

How to Rooting Lenovo S860 Running Android KitKat ROW version

1. Download all required files above, make sure USB VCOM driver already completely installed on your computer. You can try to turn off your device and connect it to your computer and see if you can find MediaTek PreLoader USB VCOM Port on your device manager.
2. Move or copy UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94 to your SD Card, place it on your SD Card root. 
3. Extract SP Flash Tool v3.1328 and TWRP v2.7.0.1_ROW on the same folder, this is for easy organize and for Flash Tool accessing recovery file.
4. Go to Flash Tool extracted folder and run Flash_Tool.exe, if you are using windows 7 run it with administrator privilege. On Flash Tool make sure you already check DA DL All with Checksum option, then click Scatter-Loading button and point it to TWRP_2.7_ROW/MT6582_Android_scatter.txt this action will load recovery image file to Flash Tool automatically.
   


5. Now press Download button or hit F9, this will show a warning that tell no other images are loaded, just ignore it and press Yes button.
   


6. Turn off your device, because this device use non-removable battery then you must wait like 10 second to make sure that your device is completely turn off. Now connect your device to Flash Tool, when USB VCOM driver installed completely then Flash Tool will recognize your device and begin to start installation process.
7. This process will take 1-2 minutes only be marked with Red, Yellow and Green Circle of the SP Flash Tool
8. Disconnect your device. Now turn on your device but with press and hold Power Button + Volume Up + Volume Down button, release it only when you can see TWRP main menu.
   


9. On TWRP main menu, select Install, point it to your SD Card and select UPDATE-SuperSU-v1.94.zip swipe to install, this step will root your device. Wait the process until completely finish and select Reboot
10. Try to normal boot and search for SuperUser application, To confirm that your device already install please install ROOT Checker from Google Play

Asustek expects to ship nearly 8 million ZenFones in 2014

Asustek Computer has seen booming sales of ZenFone and expects to ship 2.8-2.9 million units in the third quarter of 2014 and nearly eight million units in the whole year, according to company CEO Jerry Shen.

Asustek has launched the ZenFone in Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, India, Russia and Turkey, Shen said. The ZenFone will launch in Brazil in the fourth quarter and a customized TD-LTE-enabled version will appear in the China market through cooperation with China Mobile in November, Shen indicated.

Asustek plans to unveil second-generation ZenFones at the 2015 Consumer Electronics Show scheduled for January and launch LTE-enabled models in the US in 2015. Asustek aims to ship 16 million ZenFone in 2015, with LTE-enabled units to account for over 40%.

Upgrade Lenovo S920 with Android KitKat ROW version, Official Release

1. Make sure USB VCOM driver completely installed on your computer before continued to next step, Download and extract S920_ROW_S213_140714 to your computer, this contains also SP Flash Tool and ROM images folder (target_bin).
2. Open SP Flash Tool folder and run Flash_Tool.exe, run it using administrator privilege when you using windows 7 or later. On SP Flash Tool open Options ↦ Option ↦ Download make sure DA DL All with Checksum is already checked, click X (Close) to apply the change and back to SP Flash Tool.
   


3. Back to SP Flash Tool, now click Scatter-Loading and point it to target_bin/MT6589_Android_scatter_emmc.txt on locate on S920_ROW_S213_140714 extracted folder, this will automatically load all necessary files to SP Flash Tool. 
   


4. Change Download only option on SP Flash Tool to Firmware Upgrade mode, Finish configure all now press Download button or hit CTRL+D, wait SP Flash Tool to initialize and become to stand by mode.
   


5. Turn off your device and remove the battery, wait 5 second then connect your device to your computer. SP Flash Tool will begin recognize your device and start the flashing process, this process mark by RED, PURPLE, and YELLOW bar on the bottom SP Flash Tool. When you see GREEN CIRCLE on the middle of SP Flash Tool, this mean flashing process already finish and you can disconnect your device.
   


6. Done, you have successful upgrade your Lenovo S920 to Android KitKat, confirm it with go to System Setting ↦ About Phone look at Build Number make sure the version is same with the downloaded.

Today i will post a guide on how to Update Lenovo S820 with Android KitKat ROW version but different from any other guide that i has been post is i will use OTA update for installing this update. Upgrade Lenovo S820 with Android KitKat Row Version

1. Requirements :
   • This can be do only if your current firmware is S820_ROW_S124_140404, please confirm it with go to System Setting ↦ About Phone ↦ Build Number. 
     
   • Confirm that your Lenovo device still using stock Lenovo recovery.
   • This update will be delete all your data store on your device, backup first for safety.
   • Lenovo S820 8GB can also follow this guide, but still do with your own risk.
   • Jump to Step 3,


2. If above conditions cannot be filled, than you cannot update your Lenovo S820 to Android KitKat.
3. If your Lenovo S820 not used ROW_S124 then you still can follow below step :
   • S820_ROW_S124_140404 (4GB) ↦ This contains all required files to flashing your device to S124 version. This files can be install using SP Flash Tool
   • S820_ROW_8G_S124_140404 (8GB) ↦ This contains all required files to flashing your device to S124 version for Lenovo S820 8GB. This files can be install using SP Flash Tool


4. After finish complete the requirements now it time to update, rename S820_ROW_S220_140722 to update.zip, now move or copy update.zip to your SD Card. Please copy on SD Card root don't copy inside a folder.
5. Turn off your device, wait for 5-6 second for complete turn off.
6. Press and hold Power + Volume Up + Volume Down button, release it when you can see Lenovo recovery main menu.
7. Your device will be start and update will be start automatically, wait for the installation until finish.
8. Done, now your device already successful update with Android KitKat, confirm with go to System Setting ↦ About Phone ↦ Build Number
