Please notice that this upgrade will cause some problems of ASUS Contacts widget.
1. Before upgrade, add 4*1 ASUS Contacts widget to Home; after upgrade, the ASUS Contacts widget will always show “loading”.
    Solution: Remove old 4*1 ASUS Contacts widget and re-add new 4*1 ASUS Contacts widget to Home.
2. After upgrade, the information in 4*3 ASUS Contacts widget will disappear.
    Solution: Re-add information into 4*3 ASUS Contacts widget.

No longer support NTFS format SD card. Please remember to backup your SD card data before upgrade to Android L with following steps:
1. Connect your ZenFone and computer with USB cable
2. Enter your ZenFone storage via computer
3. Select all data and copy it. Paste all your SD card data to your computer

How to Downgrade ASUS Zenfone 5 A500CG from Lollipop 5.0 to Kitkat 4.4



Today ASUS Zenfone Blog will show you How to Downgrade ASUS Zenfone 5 A500CG From Lollipop to KitKat.

Downgrade Step (From L to KK)
    1. Download the downgrade tool: UL-ASUS_T00F-TW-5.2.2.2-user.zip
    2. Using MTP connecting ZenFone5 with PC. (Enable MTP: Setting-->Storage-->press the USB icon on right corner--> Enable MTP)
    3. Copy file UL-ASUS_T00F-TW-5.3.3.3-user.zip to the ZenFone5 internal storage.
    4. Remove the USB cable, the device will pops up the system upgrade information.
    5. After finished, device will auto reboot and perform factory reset.
    6. Then copy file UL-ASUS_T00F-TW-5.2.2.2-user to the ZenFone5 internal storage again.
    7. After downgraded, device will auto reboot and perform factory reset.
    8. After finished, please go to Settings->About-> software information->Build number. The version should be V2.21.40.44

      ZENFONE 5 Downgrade Version
      TW VERSION

      Notice:

      [ROM] ASUS Zenfone 5 A500CG Android 5.0 Lollipop Download


      ASUS Officially announced update Android 5.0 Lollipop For ASUS Zenfone 5 A500CG T00F/T00J v3.23.40.52 . You can check via Settings>About>System Update. Or You can do Manually by download this ROM Below. Please note: only update same SKU Version (TW->TW, WW->WW, CHT->CHT) or the upadate will be fail. 

      How to Upgrade to Lollipop :

      1. Please make sure update software version after V2.22.40.53 first before update to software version V3.23.40.52
      2. Download V2.22.40.53 from Here (Full firmware/Large) or Here (FOTA file/small)
      3. For V2.22.40.53 which you download from above, put the file to the device root directory directly. 
      4. For V3.23.40.52 which you download from below, please unzip the file first then put the file to the device root directory

        Download ROM:

        Instructions:

        1. Download ADB
        2. Download ROM
        3. Go to Fastboot
        4. Extract ROM at ADB Folder
        5. Connect Zenfone to PC/Laptop, at ADB Folder Press shift+right click then select open command here
        6. type this at cmd: fastboot flash system system.img
        7. type this at cmd: fastboot flash boot boot.img
        8. wait until finish and reboot
        9. done
        10. after flashing enable the developer option and CHECK the DISABLE HW OVERLAY to fix color glitch

        1.Update phone APN version to 81.
        2.Update per Facebook sharing policy
        3.Due to changes in Facebook’s service policy, ASUS apps will no longer be able to access the list of all your Facebook friends or their public information such as birthdays, feeds, public albums, and etc. Some features have been modified in order to comply with this new policy. Thank you for your understanding.

        Changes on the apps:
        ASUS Gallery
         Friends’ public albums are no longer in service.
         Likes and comments feature are disabled.
        ASUS Contacts
         Friends’ recent feeds push notification are disabled.
         Lower resolution profile picture is used.
         Option to set contact’s cover image from Facebook is removed.
         Synchronization of birthday information is not supported.
        Phone In-call screen
         Lower resolution profile picture is used.
