How to Re-Flashing Lenovo S890, S890_S111 ROW Firmware - Flashing original stock ROM is something that we must know when we wanna modified Android devices. Because every problem that we found when modified Android devices can be solve by re flashing it original ROM. Today i am gone posting a guide on how to re flashing Lenovo S890 with ROW firmware, this is a multi language firmware with google applications already include. This is an International official ROM, so it guarantee there is no bug on this ROM.

• USB VCOM Driver ↦ this need to be install before starting follow the guide, Turn off your device and remove the battery. Then connect it to your computer, while you are look for MTxx Preloader at Device Manager this will appear for second then disappear so if you cannot find it just disconnect your device and connect it again. When you already found it right click on it and Update Driver point to USB VCOM Driver. When it finish installing the driver just open My Computer ↦ Manage ↦ Device Manager look for Mediatek PreLoader USB VCOM Port

How to Re-Flashing Lenovo S890, S890_S111 ROW Firmware

1. Download all required files, Actually you just only need to download S890_ROW_S111_130201, because it contain flash tool and USB VCOM driver but i need to describe it so i separate it on download section.
2. Extract S890_ROW_S111_130201 to your computer.
3. Go to SP Flash Tool folder and run Flash Tool, if you are using windows 7 then run it with administrator privilege. Tick on DA DL All with Check Sum option, this is an important options you will get error if this not tick. Click on Scatter-Loading button point it to S890_ROW_S111_130201/target_bin/MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc.txt when you select it this will load all image file to SP Flash Tool so yo don't need to insert it one by one.
   


4. When all finish set now press Download button or hit F9, SP Flash Tool will start initializing for a minutes then it will on stand by mode waiting for device to be connect to computer.
5. Turn off your device, remove the battery then connect your device to computer. If USB VCOM Driver is installing successful then SP Flash Tool will recognize your device and begin to start flashing process. Flashing process mark by RED, YELLOW and GREEN Bar bellow the SP Flash Tool, when it finish it will be mark with GREEN Circle in the middle of SP Flash Tool
   


6. Now you can disconnect your device, and you already successful flashing S890_ROW_S111_130201 on your Lenovo S890, confirm it with go to System Setting ↦ About Phone.

How to Re-Partition Internal Memory Lenovo S890 - One characteristic of Smartphone with MTK 6577 chipset is it has limited internal storage, On Lenovo S890 it only has 755 MB for internal storage. Today i will posting a guide on how to re-partition your Lenovo S890 so after following this guide you will has around 2,5 GB space for internal storage. In this guide we will take phone storage space which is 1.5 GB and give it to internal storage, so after finish this guide you will found that your phone storage is only has  19 MB space left and it will be hidden from you.

Legends (To be Remember, So you not confused) :

• Internal Storage is where your applications will be storage, in explorer is known as /data, on below picture and every picture in this guide it known as System Storage. but i will call it Internal Storage because it used to call that way.
• Phone Storage is where you can place your documents, data, music, picture and etc. in explorer it known as sdcard1, When your device connect to computer this will become USB Storage. But on below picture and every picture in this guide it known as Internal Storage. but i will call it Phone Storage because it used to call that way.

Preparations :

• Your Lenovo S890 must has been ROOTED and already installed with custom recovery, You can use TWRP, CWM, or LEWA recovery. If you don't know how to do it please refer to How to Rooting Lenovo S890, TWRP Installation Guide
• Don't do this guide if you already update to Android 4.4.2, this only work for Android 4.2 or lower. Please confirm it with your About Phone
• Go to your System Setting ↦ Storage ↦ select SD card on Default Memory option.
  


• Move all important files on the Phone Storage to your SD card or to your computer.

Downloads :

• Data_sdcard_19 ↦ This file will partition your device to 2.5 GB Internal Storage and 19 MB Phone Storage
• Data_sdcard_restore ↦ This file will back your partition to default.
• vold.fstab ↦ This is optional file for hide 19 MB Phone Storage from user.
• vold.fstab_restore ↦ This is optional file for show the Phone Storage partition.

How to Re-Partition Internal Memory Lenovo S890

1. Download all required files, save it to your computer. For easy organize please place it to one folder. Don't unzip it, it need to be zip.
2. Move or copy Data_sdcard_19 and vold.fstab to your sd card, vold.fstab is optional you can copy it or not because it just to hide the Phone Storage partition so users cannot view it.
3. Reboot your phone to Recovery Mode. If you don't know how to do it just turn off your phone, the turn on with hold and press Power Button + Volume Down button until you can see TWRP / CWM main menu.
4. On recovery mode main menu, select Backup ↦ select  System, Data, Cache or for safe select all. Use external SD card for save backup files, if you use CWM it will automatic backup all and save to external SD card on folder /ClockworkMod/Backup/
5. After finish, Back to main menu again and now select Install ↦ Use SD Card ↦ point it to Data_sdcard_19, this process only take 5-10 seconds. Don't Reboot select Cache/Dalvik Cache or Home
6. After finish now back to main menu again, select Wipe ↦ Cache, Dalvik Cache and Factory Reset, If you got "Failed error/emmc" then please use advanced wipe and wipe it one by one. 
7. Don't reboot first, back to main menu again select Restore ↦ Advanced Restore ↦ select just Data and Cache to restore. Wait until restore process finish completely.
8. Back to main menu again select Reboot
9. The first booting will take sometime, After successful booting it will give information about "Internal SDCard Damage" and ask to be format click Yes, this will format your 19 MB Phone Storage
10. Finish, Look at your System Setting ↦ Storage
    


11. When you need to hide 19 MB Phone Storage then just install vold.fstab like step 5. Now enjoy your bigger storage.

How to Rooting Lenovo S890, TWRP Installation Guide - Rooting Lenovo Ideaphone S890 is a little harder than the other Lenovo series, Lenovo S890 by default don't have any recovery when you press and hold Power Button + Volume Up + Volume Down you will not end in the recovery mode but instead go to some kind a "self test" mode. In this guide we will install a custom recovery and then root the device.

How to Rooting Lenovo S890, TWRP Installation Guide

1. Download all file and place in one folder
2. Install Lenovo Windows Driver on your computer, don't forget to reboot it after finish.
3. On your device go to System Settings ↦ Developer Options ↦ USB Debugging, enable it so your computer can detect your device.
4. Copy Root File and Recovery Update File to your device, disconnect your device from your computer then turn off your device.
5. Remove battery.
6. Extract SP Flash Tool v3.1224 and TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP), go to SP Flash Tool v3.1224 extracted folder and run Flash Tool
7. Click on Scatter-Loading button and navigate to TeamWin Recovery Project (TWRP) extracted folder and select MT6577_Android_scatter_emmc
8. Click on Download button and Yes button.
   


9. Now it time to flash your device, Your device status is turn off with battery off. Connect device to computer and insert battery, your computer / Flash Tool will detect your device and immediately run the flashing progress, process will take 2-3 minutes when finish it will show GREEN sign in the middle of screen and you can disconnect your device.
   


10. Turn off your device again, now we will go to Recovery Mode press and hold Power Button + Volume Up + Volume Down at once. If you find it difficult you can install Reboot Recovery from google play store.
11. First let's update our TWRP, On TWRP select Install and choose External Sd Card then navigate to Recovery Update File. 'Slide to flash' wait until finish and select Reboot to Recovery
12. Now it time to ROOT, like step 11 select Install from TWRP main menu and choose External Sd Card then navigate to Root File. 'Slide to flash' wait until finish and select Reboot System.
13. Done, Wait until perfectly boot and now your will find SuperSu already install to your system. to verified it you can install ROOT Checker.
